City were charged with breaching Premier League financial rules 115 times over a nine-year period back in February 2023. The club deny any wrongdoing but it remains an asterisk next to their current dominance. No firm date for a hearing has been announced yet, but it has been reported that City will stand trial this autumn.
City are well placed to qualify for the last four after a 3-3 draw against Real Madrid, and will fancy their chances of winning the second leg of their quarter-final at the Etihad Stadium next week. Pep Guardiola's side return to domestic action first though, hosting Luton Town on Saturday.
