Isak's tap on Slot's shoulder was — perhaps optimistically — described by one Liverpool fan as something "you don't do to someone you haven't met before. The deal is done. We're going back to back."
Isak is expected to be in demand this summer after a season where he's scored 23 goals for Newcastle and looked to be one of the most lethal finishers in Europe. Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona have all been credited with interest in the Sweden star, while Newcastle are determined to try and keep him at St James's Park. Eddie Howe's side would reportedly require an offer "in excess of" £150m (€178m) to part company with their star man.
After ending their long trophy drought, Newcastle will now focus on their Premier League campaign and hope to secure Champions League football for next season. Securing a spot in Europe's premier club competition could also help convince Isak to stay at St James's Park and see out his contract which runs until 2028.
